A huntsman is what a profession? Rights and duties of the huntsman
The need for man at all times iscommunication with living nature, in which the inner world is filled with a sense of calm, silence and harmony. Happy is the one whose love for the world around him and his defense are combined in the main work with the vocation and meaning of all life.
Huntsman and forester - the first defenders of forestry
Protection of the plant world and caring for the brothersour smaller professionally engaged in forestry workers: huntsman and forester. The similarity of these occupations is the maintenance of one territory with the only difference that the animal world is the responsibility of the huntsman, the forester follows the forest, controlling the felling of trees. The work of the huntsman is not particularly difficult - it seems so at first glance.Often these are former hunters, not by hearsayfamiliar with all the intricacies of dealing with wild animals. Special education for working in forestry, of course, is considered the preferred factor, but not as important as the available skills.
The huntsman as a profession
The huntsman, whose native house is actually a forest, has such duties:
- control over the hunting grounds entrusted to it and events occurring on them;
- preservation of animals listed in the Red Book;
- maintenance of the number of commercial species;
- shooting of sick and aggressive specimens in order to eliminate possible danger to the local habitat;
- artificial regulation of excessivemultiplication, causing in the wild environment crowding and hunger. For this, in addition to good knowledge of all species of animals, the huntsman has to exercise mathematical abilities to account for forest inhabitants. By special formulas, he makes an approximate calculation of individuals of each species year-round. This is required to control the natural balance and the validity of the number of issued licenses for the extraction of a particular animal species.
Daily painstaking work
A huntsman is a person who does not know either days off or holidays, whose work takes up most of the time: from early morning until late at night.To increase the number of animals the huntsman conductsa number of biotechnical measures. This is the installation of feeders and feeding, for birds - equipment pebbles with small stones (required for digesting heavy food in winter), as well as flounder with sand, in which the feathered bathe in order to get rid of parasites.
Seasonality of work performed by the huntsman
Winter season, threatening serious cold anddeep snows, it is hard not only for the person, but also for the animal. Horse huntsman during this period tries to provide wild animals with additional food, and at times distributing heavy bags with food (grain and root crops) on their shoulders. And this hard work sometimes has to be done every day, until the very end of the snowdrifts; because at a difficult moment wild animals can rely solely on human compassion and help.
It would seem that the period of frosts and colds should be compensated for by carefree and full rest summer days. In fact, this is not so.Hot months under the scorching sun rays andendless mosquito bites are the peak of work to prepare for the winter: it is the repair and renewal of feeders and feeding grounds, as well as the preparation of forages and solonetzes. The latter are the reserves of table salt, usually arranged in stumps and troughs from fallen trees, in places where animals pass to the watering place. Salt, improving the metabolism in the body and increasing its vitality, contributes to the optimal absorption of rough winter food, causes an increase in the fertility of females and the normal development of young animals. Also, salt is knocked down by an increased acidity, which is formed from the consumption of hoofed needles, and in summer, by inhalation, relieves animals from the larva of the gadfly and other forest flies.
Organization of hunting
Autumn period brings concerns related tothe opening of the hunting season and its completion. A huntsman is a person who coordinates work with teams of hunters and possesses excellent organizational abilities aimed at the success of the enterprise and the safety of guests, namely the organization of productive hunting and comfortable lodging. Being the owner of the forest, the hunter thoroughly possesses invaluable experience and knowledge about the behavior of the beast, its lezhkah and location at the required time. Also, he can almost unmistakably determine where the elk or deer graze, and there are places to dig a herd of wild boars.Therefore, hunting, always rich in prey, causesthe guests have positive emotions and an irresistible desire to return to these places more than once. An integral part of the safari is evening bikes around the fire, true and not so, being an unchanging tradition and uniting completely different people.
Hunters, both novice and seasoned, always follow three unspoken rules:
- Respect the animal, which is hunting. Do not shoot at the females and process even the smallest piece of mined meat.
- Observe the safety precautions.
- Tremendous attitude towards weapons, in no case do not send it to other participants of such an exciting process.
A normal hunter always has a feelingpersonal responsibility, morality and morality, which does not allow mercilessly to destroy animals for the sake of pecuniary gain. This can not be said about poaching, the fight against which, both in the forest and on the river, is the most dangerous part of the work that the huntsman performs.
This is an illegal shooting of animals, jamming fishexplosive and an electric generating a current of several thousand volts, which leads to the extermination of representatives of fauna and is an endless problem for many years. The huntsman often visits the reserve territory on weekends: it is in these days that the probability of forest visits by poachers is high. When meeting with the poacher, the rights of the huntsman are allowed to check the documents of the latter and draw up a protocol fixing the criminal offense. Despite the strengthening of control over the activities of poachers, the latter manages to work on the lead, using modern baits and special electronic devices. When detained, poachers behave differently. Some calmly react to the fact of being discovered red-handed, understanding the whole gravity of what is happening and admitting their own guilt. Others begin to threaten and scandal; in this case, the huntsman can threaten with official weapons.
Poaching is global and unpunished
Poaching pushes the possibility of earning:Badger fat is highly valued on the market, which provokes the merciless destruction of badgers. The high cost of hunting licenses, as well as their limited number of certain types of animals, are also inducements to commit illegal activities.
Impunity of poachers, representativeswhich are often "the powerful of this world," makes the defender of the forest sometimes defenseless before them. The minimal penalty, reaching the ridiculous, in comparison with the carcass of the killed animal only infuses into the destroyer of the fauna a feeling of complete impunity. The huntsman is, first of all, the defender of our smaller brothers, who are characterized by helplessness against the terrible force of arms.
Public duties of the huntsman
In addition to the main activity in the duties of the huntsmanincludes work with the local population: this is an explanation of the rules of hunting and new laws, meetings with schoolchildren in order to learn the correct norms of behavior in the forest and conduct familiarization and educational excursions. This instills in children a love of nature and the desire to learn the profession of a huntsman, whose work for the most part is based on great enthusiasm: after all, who will protect nature, except ourselves?
Low salaries in the forestry sector, badThe material and technical base are just the usual obstacles that hinder laborious work. The work of the hunter is a great pleasure from communicating with nature and living with it side by side, which brings incomparable happiness and induces a person to complete self-giving and immense love to his whole living life.
